The princess of urban literature, Miasha, returns with 'Chaser,' the story of a dangerous love triangle that promises to bring down a city. Sounds like a scene from the HBO series, 'The Wire,' right? But it's pulled from the pages of 'Chaser,' the story of Leah, a beautiful young woman who has fallen in love with the wrong man, and Nasir, an ambitious and hardworking man who owes a debt to a dangerous and greedy friend, Kenny. It's also the story of Kenny, Leah's boyfriend, who worships only money and will stop at nothing to get it. The plot takes a major turn when Leah's life is suddenly at risk when Kenny sees her as more of an obstacle than a mate. Strap yourself in for a wild ride by one of the best storytellers in urban lit.
Miasha, a native of West Philadelphia, does not disappoint with 'Chaser,' her sixth novel. Others include 'Secret Society,' 'Diary of a Mistress,' 'Sistah for Sale,' 'Mommy's Angel,' and 'Never Enough.' She lives in Philadelphia with her husband and two young sons.

Miasha recently answered three questions for BV Bookshelf:
You just keep coming up with great stories. How did you come up with 'Chaser?'
Part of 'Chaser' is based on true events so the concept came from experience but what often happens is that writers begin a story that soon takes on a life of its own. And that's exactly what happened with 'Chaser.' I wanted to present the underworld of wreck chasing but the love triangle took over. However, I'm happy with the end result! So the way I see it, the change of focus was meant to be!
Kenny is so scandalous and corrupt. Money is the only important thing to him, mirroring the fallen executives on Wall Street. Did you have them in mind while writing?
You know, that's a good question. I can't say that I had the Wall Street execs in mind, but their greed could have definitely had a subliminal role to play while developing Kenny's character. Overall though, I've seen the destructive and ruthless paths people take when they're obsessed with making money.
How can you top this? What is next?
Well, I never look to top my books but I look to give my readers and fans something worthy and fresh. And I definitely plan to give them just that in "'Til Death,'' which is the third installment to 'Secret Society.' I know my fans will love it and I can't wait to get it out there! Also, 'Secret Society' the Stage Play is on tour now. It will be showing in Atlanta August 7th and 8th.
